I'm a medical doctor and I sought Dr David Tan as a second opinion after consulting a public hospital. This was on the recommendation of several doctor friends. There was a lot of anxiety as it was on my dominant hand and would result in significant functional impairment. He took the time to explain regarding the scan findings after a detailed physical examination using his vast clinical knowledge and experience. I was reassured by his consult and he was patient with all my questions. I did not need an operation in the end and my symptoms improved with occupational therapy. Thank you so much for your care and kindness Dr David

I was referred to the clinic by someone who had received treatment from Doctor Tan and physiotherapist Vincent, after an accident with my hand. Doctor Tan was patient, professional and thorough throughout the entire time as my attending doctor, and offered detailed responses and options regarding my condition. Surgery was a great success, and the follow up care by both dr Tan and his team, as well as my lead physio Vincent was excellent. My hand healed in good time post surgery; post op care was well planned and structured including my physio sessions, with minimal scarring and good mobility, and I felt very well look after. Thank you so much dr tan + your amazing team and Vincent!

Dr Lingaraj is a professional, detail and concise doctor. His initial diagnosis was accurate and was confirmed later by the MRI scan. He is calm, reassuring and suggest the best options to take. A good specialist clinic and doctor to go to if you have any Orthopaedic issue.

OHP is a clinic that I would recommend. With my last visit to the clinic this week, I would like to thank Dr David Tan, Principal Occupational Therapist Mr Vincent Leow, Staff Nurse Charmaine Ho, Annabel Goh and all the staff for your care and warm in attending to my injury for the past few months. I had a torn tendon on my left thumb after a fall. The success of the operation is only complete with a series of good therapy sessions. During the recovery, I accidentally injured my operated thumb again. Thanks to Mr Vincent who called Dr David immediately. Dr David happened to be abroad having his vacation. Dr David responded immediately by advising the staff in the clinic to give me the necessary medical follow-up. He even called me from abroad to check on my condition personally and advised me what I had to do in the meantime before he could see on his return 3 days later. Thanks once again to the team in OHP, especially to Mr Vincent who has made each therapy session a pleasant one for me rather than the fear of pain, anxiety or stress of having treatment as a patient.

Vincent Leow the occupational therapist helped me recover from a lingering finger injury sustained while rock climbing. After poor advice from another hand specialist had worsened the situation, I was able to gradually turn things around with Vincent's help and now the finger is well on the way to a full recovery. Thanks Vincent!

Dr David Tan went that extra mile to make the time to consult with our family member who was in a lot of pain. It was a great relief to know we were being taken care of. His front office was unfailingly positive, polite and professional in her responses. Thank you.

I was referred to osteopath Vincent after experiencing a rupture in my finger pulley. Throughout my numerous visits here, he was really patient and broke down the scientific explanations / medical terms in lay man terms. He showed me various mobility & strength exercises to aid my finger to full recovery. Highly recommend Vincent (esp anyone suffering from finger injuries). Lovely service from all, including the front desk staff. Really polite & courteous. Great service from this team !

By fortuity, someone (in the rehab fraternity) recommended to me Mr Vincent Leow, the clinic in-house HAND REHAB expert. It was in relation to my carpal tunnel surgeries performed elsewhere a good many weeks earlier and rehab was deemed unnecessary. Healing therefore took on the "auto-pilot" path. It turned out to be quite wrong as rehab is in fact integral to my best possible outcome. Prompt and tremendous improvement followed after the structured rehab program by Mr Vincent. He has steadily and effectively 'tuned up' my hands and put them in humming order. It is Measurable. Discernible. I am very pleased indeed. Credit to Mr Vincent who has made the big difference. He is truly skillful and knowledgeable in HAND Rehab.

Dr Sandeep was the attending specialist at Gleneagles A&E when my 3 year old son broke his arm. He was calm and reassuring and thoroughly assessed the situation before recommending the course of action and next steps. He took a practical approach and worked with us to ensure that the procedure required was as minimally invasive as possible for my son. The clinic staff are lovely and always on hand when needed. They made the whole process as easy as possible from an admin perspective and were always so welcoming when we went in for appointments. I would absolutely recommend Dr Sandeep for his kind, calm and practical approach. We always felt that we were in very good hands with him.

Orthopaedics focuses on our musculoskeletal system and ancillary structures. Orthopaedic specialists help patients regain strength and function when treating musculoskeletal injuries such as joint pain, sports injuries, and tendon ruptures using a combination of surgical and non-surgical approaches. They may also work with the patient to prevent further injuries, alleviate pain, and improve quality of life through rehabilitation and physical therapy.
While both orthopaedics and sports medicine focus on injuries related to the musculoskeletal system, there are distinct differences between the two. Orthopaedics covers the broad medical specialty that includes the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of musculoskeletal issues while sports medicine is a sub-specialty that deals with injuries directly related to sports or physical activity.

The 10 most common orthopaedic surgeries include:

1) ACL reconstruction surgery
2) Knee replacement surgery
3) Hip replacement surgery
4) Shoulder replacement surgery
5) Knee arthroscopy
6) Shoulder arthroscopy
7) Ankle repair
8) Spinal surgeries
9) Joint fusion
10) Trigger finger release

Acute sports injuries such as broken bones that cause intense pain, swelling, numbness, or tingling should be dealt with immediately by a specialist. However, certain sports injuries may be chronic, meaning pain and discomfort develop over time instead of after a single incident. These can include stress fractures and ligament tears. If the pain does not alleviate after a few weeks, it’s a good idea to visit an orthopaedic specialist with expertise in sports injuries to prevent further damage to the affected joint.

An orthopaedic specialist with expertise in hand and wrist injuries is a suitable doctor to visit for injuries in this part of the body. They will assess the injury to determine an ideal treatment plan. Depending on the severity of the injury, they may recommend minimally invasive surgery, medication, or physical therapy.
